The condition of the United States of America in 2021 and beyond
(Chapter 1)

Back in October of 2016, I published a five-part post on Facebook laying out my thoughts regarding the 2016 election titled: “My thoughts on this election part 1 of 5, My thoughts on this election 2 of 5, and so on.” They are still found on my Facebook wall “James Mike Hart”.

I just re-read those 5 articles and found them to be accurate if not prophetic! Once again I give all the credit due to the Holy Spirit of God, who gave me the words! Seriously… all I did was write what He put in my head to say.

I believe that I am once again being prompted, if not compelled, by the Lord to step out of my comfort zone and share my thoughts pertaining to the current condition of the United States of America. This will be from a spiritual perspective, although to some it may seem to be political. I am concerned for the spiritual condition of our country, not politics!

I would encourage anyone reading this to go to my Facebook wall and read/re-read the 5 articles because they do lay a foundation for what I am about to share.

Before I delve into it however, I feel a need to talk a little bit about where my perspective comes from.

In 1978 I made a decision that has been the GPS that has guided my life, my thoughts and my actions for the past 43 years. Let me explain it this way: In this world we live in, there exists an unfathomable amount of knowledge. Everything that everyone has ever known about science, art, music, history, mathematics, human relations and on and on just boggles the mind. So when thinking about what I should base the rest of my life upon, I had to admit that the amount of knowledge I possess is comparatively so minute, so tiny that why would I want to base my life on what seemed or felt right to me?

So by faith, I made the decision to base my life on something other than my opinion. That’s when I decided to make the Bible my source of truth.  “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8 NIV

Prior to making that decision I thought I would have to give up soooooo much, only to find out 43 years later, that I didn’t have to give up a thing that really mattered. In fact, living by the precepts of the Bible, my source of truth, it has resulted in a very happy, fulfilling life.  I’m certainly not perfect; however, even with my imperfections, my life has been and continues to be very rewarding!  As the Bible itself says, “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 NIV

It is from this perspective that I will share my thoughts regarding the current condition of the United States of America. Thoughts based not on what seems right to me, but what seems right according to God’s Word (the Bible).“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death,” Proverbs 16:25 NIV
