My Thoughts on the Election part 2 of 5
Folks, Donald Trump didn’t enter this race claiming to be a Christian. He needs our prayers and uplifting Christian support if he is to be successful in upholding the Conservative / Constitutional platform that the American people voted for him to represent. He has agreed to uphold that platform. I believe that God can use this flawed man if he is offered the grace, prayers and support that he desperately needs at this time. We need to do our part so that God can do His part.
I’m not sure we can survive 4 or possibly 8 more years of this progressive attack on Christianity. This may be our last chance to stop the eroding away of our Christian rights, values and beliefs in the name of “Political Correctness.” We have all witnessed this erosion. Here are just a very few that come to mind and I believe there are many others just waiting to come out of the progressive movement and agenda if given a chance:
- The elimination of prayer in schools. (Then we wonder why we are seeing so much trouble in schools.)
- Taking down the Ten Commandments. (Fosters a society that sets its own standards for right & wrong.)
- Stripping our Christian heritage out of the school textbooks.
- Mandating tolerance for all beliefs, groups, factions and religions… except Christianity.
- Targeting Christian nonprofit organizations for the purpose of delaying or revoking their tax exempt status.
- Using which ever restroom or locker room you want regardless of the gender you were born with.
- Aborting unborn babies as a form of birth control or for personal convenience. (In the name of “Right to Choose”)
- Being accused of a “Hate Crime” for standing up for what the Christian Bible says. Many of us strive to live our lives based on Biblical principles. We believe we cannot pick and choose which ones we like and which ones we can ignore! (Believe me, this is under attack in this country and in the world today!)
- The Johnson Amendment that does not allow Church Pastors and Christian School leaders to publicly endorse a particular candidate or run the risk of losing their tax exempt status. (Why should the leaders of every other organization in the country be able to endorse candidates but not pastors and Christian school leaders? This is DISCRIMINATION in its purest form!)
Whether you like him or not, Donald Trump has not only vowed to stop this trend but to reinstate some of these Christian values we have already lost. (Eliminating the Johnson amendment in particular.)
Seriously folks… Donald Trump needs our intercessory prayer to accomplish the task ahead! For our benefit and the good of the entire country, I am praying that he will have a powerful encounter with God that will bring about a radical change in his life! (I believe we are already beginning to see the stirrings of such a change.) Following is a quote from Dr. Ben Carson from an interview with Yahoo News just prior to debate #2:
“I know he prayed this morning with James Robison and we talked about it,” Carson said. Yahoo News asked Carson for further details about Trump’s morning prayers. “He is coming ever closer to the Lord,” Carson said of Trump. Carson was asked if the prayers included Trump asking for forgiveness. “Yes. Absolutely,” Carson replied.
