Why is this one different? Part 1
As I was reflecting back on everything that I’ve written so far, I realized that the world and specifically this country, the United States, is a war zone, and I mean that literally! We are not in a war zone, we are the war zone! There is warfare going on right now that eclipses the effects of World War I and 2, Korea, Viet Nam and Afghanistan put together!
As I typed the previous sentence, I thought, No, No Way! How could this battle between ideologies one and two be worse than all those major wars? However… I am confident that those are the words that Holy Spirit told me to write! It caused me to pause and ponder those words. Why is this battle worse? There was horrific loss of life and destruction that took place in those previous wars. How could today’s ideologies one and two confrontation be worse?
As I prayed and reflected on that statement I asked the Lord why He would have me state it in that way. I believe He is giving me part of the answer even as I type, but only a part.
You see, all wars throughout history have always been between ideology one and ideology two! There has always been an ideology one that wants to dominate, control and rule their country and ultimately the world. Remember the examples I sighted back in chapter two? Here they are again just to refresh your memory:
(China, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. This has been going on for as far back as we have historical records. Take a look at ancient Egypt, Babylon, the Canaanites, and the Philistines. How about Napoleon, Alexander the Great, Mao Tse –tung in China, Lenin in Russia, Fidel Castro in Cuba, and Adolf Hitler in Germany.)
So why is the Lord telling me that the battle between the two ideologies today is worse, and more evil, than ever before? Once again I had to pray and ponder.
The Bible says that our battle is not against other people:
12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
So, okay Lord – that has always been the battle hasn’t it? What makes this one more dangerous than the others?
The Lord directed me to the passage of scripture that indicates the devil’s time is short and he is very angry! He is pulling out all the stops in his attempt to unleash ideology one in the United States, because if we fall into his grasp, the rest of the world will soon follow!
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because
the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.
Revelation 12:12 (NIV)
