God so Loved the World that He Gave His Son: The greatest Spiritual battle ever fought – part thirty four

The Holy Spirit is leading me to do something a little different for the blog post this week. To start with I need to go back about 35 years or more, back in the late 1980’s. At that time my wife Shirley and I enjoyed listening to the family singing group “The Hemphills.” The group consisted of the mom and dad, Joel and LaBreeska, and their daughter Candy. They were frequent members of Bill and Gloria Gather’s “Home Coming” live concerts and television series. We even purchased an album or two of theirs. We remember when Candy announced that she would no longer be singing with “The Hemphills,” because she was getting married to a minister by the name of Kent Christmas. Our reaction was “Oh no… she is our favorite!” We also laughed at the fact that her new name would then be Candy Christmas. Get it? Like Christmas candy. After getting married, Candy disappeared from the music scene, although her mom and dad continued singing with the Gathers.

Now… fast forward to current day. About two years ago, we started hearing about Pastor Kent Christmas and even watched some of his sermon videos on You Tube. It took us a little while to make the connection, but when Pastor Kent mentioned his wife Candy it was like, wow… after all this time Candy and Kent reappear!

To give you a little up-to-date information, I copied the following bio from the website of their church “Regeneration Nashville:”

Kent and Candy Christmas are the founding pastors of Regeneration Nashville in Nashville, TN. Kent Christmas has been in full time ministry for 50 years, traveling extensively across the United States and abroad. His passion is to strengthen the local church body and to share prophetic insight. He is a man of prayer and carries an anointing to preach the word with the demonstration of apostolic power. Kent and his wife, Candy, of the southern gospel family, The Hemphills, have been married for 34 years. Candy has appeared on over 60 Gaither Homecoming videos and in 2004 founded The Bridge, Inc., an organization that ministers to the homeless and hungry of Nashville. Kent and Candy are blessed with two sons, a daughter, and four beautiful grandchildren.

So why am I telling you all this? In the early morning hours of Friday morning, November 24, Pastor Kent received a prophetic message from the Lord that brought me to tears when I heard it. He then delivered the message to his congregation on Sunday, November 26. I STRONGLY encourage everyone reading this blog post to go to the following video and watch Pastor Kent’s encouraging message:

Go to You Tube and type “Pastor Kent Christmas Powerful Prophetic Word November 26.” Select the video that is 36:54 minutes in length to get his message only without the music and announcements.

Please give me some feedback. Let me know your reaction to his message.

John 4:34-38 (ESV)
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 37 For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

Acts 2:16-18 (ESV)
16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: 17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
