God so Loved the World that He Gave His Son: The greatest Spiritual battle ever fought – part twenty nine

Well… after taking a week off from the blog, I’m back! I did miss spending time seeking the Holy Spirit about what He has to say to us. This week, I believe that He would have me write about Representative Mike Johnson who was just voted in as the new Speaker of the House. As a Christian myself, it was refreshing to hear him talk about the Lord and his Christian faith. At the same time, he seems to be highly respected by his colleagues in the House, as a very capable Speaker.

Let me make something perfectly clear though, I’m not a person who believes that God only uses Christians to do his work here on earth. Take a look back at Chapter 25, part nineteen of the blog, where we covered that pretty extensively. Almighty God can and will use anybody, Christian or non-Christian, to accomplish His will! It did give me a warm, exciting feeling, however, to hear Speaker Johnson boldly let this country, and the entire world know that he is on the Lord’s side!

 Romans 1:16-17 (NLT2)
16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. 17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

Be observant and see if more and more men and women of God burst into public view just as Speaker Johnson has done. Many preachers that my wife Shirley and I have been following are prophesying a bold move of God which will come against the evil that has plagued this nation! One preacher described it as “a dome of evil over the earth,” but God is choosing to show Himself powerful in the days and weeks ahead! Watch for it! May God receive the glory!

John 16:33 (NLT2)
33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

As we observe more Godly people bursting on the scene, as I believe we will, please keep in mind that we are witnessing God moving out of the background and confronting evil out in the open for all to see! See the Scriptures below.

Psalm 37:7 (NLT2)
7 Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT2)
2 For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

We are living in an exciting time where we are beginning to witness God’s amazing power! Yes… it can also be a terrifying time for those who are not watching through eyes of faith! There is comfort in knowing that no matter what takes place, we will be okay whether here on earth or in Heaven! I believe the Apostle Paul said it best in the book of Philippians:

Philippians 1:20-26 (NLT2)
20 For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. 21 For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. 22 But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. 23 I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. 24 But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. 25 Knowing this, I am convinced that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith. 26 And when I come to you again, you will have even more reason to take pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is doing through me.

“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power.” Amen!
