Chapter 13 – The White Hats against the Black Hats

I was sitting here this morning thinking about the carefree days when I was a young boy. One of my favorite things to do was going to the movie theater on Saturday morning. Mom and dad would give my brother and me money for the movie tickets, and usually a little extra for popcorn. That amounted to about 35 cents apiece, 25 cents for the ticket and 10 cents for popcorn. Do you believe that? Try doing that now without shelling out 10 to 20 dollars! Dad would drive us downtown and drop us off on the corner close to the only two movie theaters in town. “The Ottumwa theater and the Capital theater.” We felt like such big shots going to the movies by ourselves! Saturday morning was always matinée time for kids. There was usually a double feature, so we got to see two cowboy movies for the price of one. Let me tell you… I dearly loved it!

Those old western movies were all based on the same basic premise; it was the “Good Guys against the Bad Guys!” This next observation sounds like a cliché, but it was true; “the Bad Guys almost always wore black cowboy hats, and the Good Guys wore the white cowboy hats.” Is that where we get the current phrase, “the white hats against the black hats?” But I digress. LOL

One thing for sure, it was easy to tell the Bad Guys from the Good Guys! When Roy Rogers was looking for the bank robbers or the cattle rustlers, it was easy to spot them. All he had to do was look for the mean/nasty looking guys wearing black hats! That got me thinking about today. As time goes by it’s getting increasingly more and more difficult to determine who are the good guys and who are the bad guys! As I was pondering that, I believe I got a downloaded thought from the Holy Spirit to my spirit. Let me try to put it into words:

All my life I have been told things on the evening news, in the newspaper or other news sources that I received as fact. When Walter Cronkite told me something, I believed it. When he told me that Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone shot John F. Kennedy in Dallas Texas, on November 22, 1963, I believed Him! I had no reason not to believe him. Walter delivered it in such a matter-of-fact way that it seemed to be the truth! Was it the truth? Was he just saying what the powers that be wanted him to say? Was Walter wearing a white or black hat? Which-ever one, he hid it well!

Fast forward to today:

• The news media told us that Donald J. Trump was a Russian asset. He was impeached because of that, only to find out that it was a lie perpetrated by Hillary Clinton and the Democrat party. Remember the fake Russian dossier?
• The news media told us that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. Now we know that was false!
• The news media is telling us that the Biden Justice department is not weaponizing the courts! We know better!
• The news media is telling us that the Biden/Harris administration is on the up-and-up, and can do no wrong.
• The news media is handling the Harris/Walz campaign with kid gloves, while viciously attacking the Trump/Vance campaign. Anyone who can’t see that is either blind or suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome!
• The news media is telling us that Donald J. Trump is a convicted felon because he was tried and convicted by a trumped-up, biased, kangaroo court in the Democratic city of New York! (Sorry about the trumped-up pun.)
• Donald J. Trump called the network news “Fake News” and was criticized for it. Now they are not even trying to hide it. Anyone who is paying attention at all can see that the mainstream news media has become the propaganda arm of the Democratic party!
• I could go on and on, but enough said.

Members of the Main Stream News Media seem to be wearing very dark hats!!!

So how can we tell the White Hats from the Black Hats you ask? The Bible gives us some advice on that Question:

Matthew 7:15–20 (NLT)
¹⁵Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. ¹⁶You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? ¹⁷A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. ¹⁸A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. ¹⁹So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. ²⁰Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

The Bible gives us another way to identify someone that may be saying things that seem right, but may have evil intensions:

1 John 4:1–4 (NLT)¹Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. ²This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.³But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here. ⁴But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

At this point, please ask yourself these three questions:

1. Is there agreement with what is written in this blog post?
2. What color hat am I wearing?
3. Am I suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome!

Heavenly Father, please help us to see through Your Eyes at what is going on in our beloved country! Please come against any wrongs being perpetrated on us by the powers that be! In the name of Your Son Jesus, I ask these things! Amen.
